The cycling safety course started on 10th January. It was a lot of fun.  We wished it went on for ever. It was on every Thursday at 9.30 in the morning. We learned how to be safe, how to follow road signs, what clothes to wear and how to stop. At the end of the course we got certificates. Something to remember! (Eimhir- Rang 4)

The cycling course taught us how to cycle on the road. The instructor gave us all the equipment we needed but you could bring your own bike if you wanted. It was great fun and very useful. It took place in the school playground from 9.30 to 10.30. On the last day of the course we watched a video to remind us of what we learned. (Jacob- Rang 4)

The first thing we did at the cycling safety course was emergency stops. Then we learned how to do left hand and right hand turns. We also did limbo. It was on at about 9.30. Most of all I had fun. (Aisling – Rang 4)

The cycling was very good. I enjoyed it. I learned a lot of things such as right turns, left turns and the right of way. My favourite bit was the cycling. The DVD was good but I enjoyed the cycling more. It was good that the cycling teacher had bikes for everyone who hadn’t one of their own. I won most of the races. We did limbo. It was on from 9.30 to 10.30 on Thursdays. (Dara- Rang 4)

The cycling programme was all about safety. We were shown how to stay safe on a bike. We did left hand turns, right hand turns and life saver looks. It explained where you should stand when at traffic lights. It showed how to overtake and cross safely. The instructor was very nice and took very little nonsense. At the end we all got our own certificates. (Cormac – Rang 4)
