Fundraising for BUMBLEance!

St. Marnock’s N.S. is fundraising for BUMBLEance. BUMBLEance, the national children’s ambulance service, provides stress-reducing journeys for children in state-of-the-art, safe and fun vehicles. The bright and fun exterior makes positive first impression which carries through to the interior.

If you would like to help it is very simple. If you have any unwanted DVDs, video games, consoles, controllers, smart phones, digital cameras or ipads, ipods, please send them into the school. A yellow drum is located near the front door where these unwanted items can be placed.

A competition will be announced very soon for the children to help promote BUMBLEance. Prizes will be given for the winners.

St. Marnock’s Gets Ready for Christmas!

All hands were on deck yesterday morning to help decorate the school. Volunteers from the Parents Association kindly gave up their Monday to deck the halls of the school with all things Christmas. The children had given them a huge helping hand by making their very own Christmas decorations. What an effort they put in and the school just looks so beautiful now! So children and parents well done!

PA Old Skool Disco

The recent Old Skool Disco fundraiser held in Tamango’s was a great success.  Everyone had so much fun that we have been inundated with requests to make this an annual event! There was definitely some shapes thrown on the dancefloor on the night.  The PA would like to thank everyone who supported us in this great event.  The atmosphere on the night only went to prove what a great school community we have. The amount raised was €3695 so well done and thank you to all.

Cleary’s Pharmacy Operation Transformation Walk

Big thank you to all who took the time to register with Cleary’s Pharmacy for last Sundays 5k walk and also to those who came together on the day to complete the walk. The weather even behaved itself for the day! A total of €410 was pledged which Cleary’s had promised to double for us however they went one step further and handed us a cheque for €1000! What a great result. This is truly a sign of the great community we live in here in Portmarnock. The cheque has been handed over to Mr Fitzgerald so we will be asking him to post updates on how this generous donation has been put to use.
