On behalf of Crosscare I would like to express our sincere thanks to the pupils, parents association and staff of St. Marnock’s School for choosing to support the Crosscare Foodbank as your chosen charity.
The Community Foodbanks were set up by Crosscare when we became aware that many families in Dublin were struggling to put food on the table, often due to emergencies arising in their lives. Some of the reasons include unexpected homelessness, unemployment, delay awaiting social welfare payments, debt, domestic violence, unexpected bills or a family crisis. Each family that comes to us receives a warm welcome and a parcel of food with basic’s such as tea, pasta, rice, tinned goods, potatoes, cereal. We provide information on other local support services as needed to help with finding longer term solutions for those we work with.
The support from your school collection has been so generous and the supplementary items such as the toiletries, hygiene products and personal care items will give us the opportunity to not only top up the parcels for Christmas but provide help to people in the weeks after which can also be a time of struggle. The collection you made will help many families.
We really appreciate your school reaching out to support others in need.
Once again a big thank you to you all in St. Marnock’s.
