2010 Christmas Concert Schedule

December 14th, 2010

In keeping with tradition classes will take part in school concerts next week to celebrate the festive season. The process of preparing for and performing in school concerts present opportunities for children to work collaboratively and to enjoy and appreciate the achievements of their colleagues. In order to facilitate the attendance of pupils and parents in a safe and comfortable setting it will be necessary to stage concerts over a number of days. Parents may select which day/days suit them best to attend. Ideally parents of children in Ms McElhone’s and Ms Hall’s classes should attend the special performance of the Nativity Musical Play on Wednesday 22nd December.
Parents are welcome to attend any of the following performances:

Monday 20th December: Classes Performing

Parents Association December 2010 Newsletter

Dear Parents

Mulled Wine & Carols Evening:

It is with much regret that the Mulled Wine evening scheduled to take place at the end of this week has been cancelled.  I’m sure this will be disappointing for pupils, teachers and parents but the safety of all concerned must be the schools number one priority.

Book Fair:

A very big thank you for all who supported the Book Fair this year.  We are delighted to announce that almost  €4,000 worth of books were sold, which means the school will receive books to the value of €2,400 allowing them replenish the school library.

Christmas Cards:

Those who paid for Christmas Cards designed by the children were distributed on Wednesday 8th December.

 Business Network Directory:

We would like to remind parents that our Business Network Directory is now available on the School Web Site.  The aim of the directory is that parents can advertise, free of charge, services or products that they provide.  You can email your details to stmarnockspa@gmail.com

Swimming Lessons:

We would like to remind parents that the Parents’ Association organise swimming lessons in the PSLC for children from Senior Infant class upwards and that the second term will commence early January. A circular will be issued to all parents from senior infants upwards detailing the new term when the school reopens in January.

Road Safety:

Can we again request that parents do not park or stop at the double yellow lines both in the Church grounds and on the main road in front of the school and drive slowly, so we can alleviate the congestion and make going and coming from school a safer place.

New Committee:

A list of all members of the Parents’ Association Committee can be seen on the School Web Site:  stmarnocks.scoilnet.ie

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your family a very happy and safe Christmas and the very best for 2011.

Kind Regards
